Making Socially Intelligent AI
Xuhui Zhou recently defended his PhD at Carnegie Mellon University, where he was advised by Maarten Sap, and received a Microsoft PhD Fellowship. His research focuses on making NLP systems socially intelligent and aligned with human social values. His work has been presented at top-tier NLP and AI conferences, receiving spotlight recognition and runner-up best paper awards, and has been covered by outlets including The New York Times, Financial Times, and The Washington Post.
I see service as a chance to connect people and being engaged in the academic and university-wide communities is my priority.
